Surgery
Ok so I arrived at the hospital at five forty AM! Admitting didnt even open till six then line up get asked my birthdate for the first of a Zillion times then into my bed number 18 in day surgery. Parents stayed while the nurse went over the questions and explained how long I'd be there for and what I would be expected to do before being discharged. Pretty sraightforward now for the forty minute wait did some reading followed by about three pee breaks to ensure you'll get through surgery... nerves didn't help. Once I was wheeled to the OR I was really nervous especially when a new anesthetist was there and he wasn't aware of my MPH. The OR nurses asked me yet again birthdate and confirm surgery. Four tries to get my IV in followed by the scariest feeling in the world being put to sleep I tried to fight it but it didn't work. I woke up at about nine in recovery and I was in tears it hurt but I was just scared and being without glasses made everything scarier and I remember fighting my surgeon over the tongue depressors and had to be held down so he could check my throat I was healing just fine. Then back to day surgery and I had to pee so bad the nurse was sketch about letting me go alone but since I seemed ok just a little loopy she let me then to bed to sit with ice on my neck and a humidifier mask on. They gave me perkocets since I was in alot of pain. Then I got cups of ice water and gjngerale and was checked all the time. Since I was doing so well they gave me a Popsicle and talked about calling my parents early. Went on another bathroom adventure still blind and threw up Popsicle...first time in over ten years. When I came back they pumped me full of gravel and antiinflammatories and called parents. I was finally discharged at three about an hour later than expected given perkocets T3s and antibiotics and strict homecare instructions however all were impressed by my lack of bleeding and overall wellness. Now for home!
